Your role & work environment

After a training period, you will be actively making markets and managing risk as part of one of ING’s trading desks.  You will be assisting the senior traders  manage the different books and will contribute to the further build-out of our franchise. The different trading desks are part of the Global Financial Markets organization and sit in the dealing room  of  ING Bank NV Belgian Branch.

Financial Markets operates in a high paced environment and is looking for candidates who are flexible, can learn quickly and are able to adapt to the rapidly changing market environment. You will work closely with the other trading team members and interact frequently  with the global Financial Markets Salesforce as well as Research and Risk Management.

Your key responsibilities

Supporting the service to customers

• Assure accurate and swift pricing service
• Build good relationships with Sales and Structuring colleagues, internal and external customers in order to grow the franchise

Assisting senior traders in managing market risks

• Analyse trading books and adjust positions while optimizing revenue and staying within limits at all time
• Maintain a high focus on the different markets and generate trade and product ideas

Contributing to the build-up of our electronic offering

• Cooperate with internal quant teams to build/improve trading algorithms
• Bring up ideas to automate/improve the sales-trading workflow
• Use data analysis to improve trading risk management but also pricing service

As a junior trader, you also need :

• a master degree in finance, economics, applied sciences or engineering
• to be fluent in English
• a basic knowledge of Financial Markets and derivatives, any relevant experience in a similar role will be an asset
• the ability to take risk decisions under pressure and maintain the highest level of accuracy in performing the relevant tasks
• to have a proactive behaviour with perpetual energy and drive to improve performance
• to be a genuine team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
