Responsibilities

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Simulate demodulation synchronization algorithms (Matlab, C++, Python)
  • Implement modem algorithms and DSP modules in VHDL
  • Implement Python based testing framework for FPGA design of DSP modules
  • Create, maintain and present design report for the research and implementation work
  • Be a part of the Physical layer team based in Herndon (US headquarters) and part of the global Physical layer team in Sint-Niklaas (Belgium)
  • Execute assigned tasks under the guidance of a research mentor and work in close collaboration with other physical layer engineers as needed to learn modem design and test techniques
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    Pursuing Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with emphasis on Communication Systems and understanding of FPGA design

    PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES:

  • Coursework on Digital Communication Systems, DSP with simulation experience
  • Basic understanding of FPGA and digital designs
  • Have 1 to 2 year experience in Matlab, C++, Python
  • Excellent communicator with a can-do attitude working in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with senior architects / experienced physical layer professionals to resolve / clarify issues in a timely manner
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated
