Your role & work environment

Within the Finance department at ING Belgium, the SOx Domain coordinates the analysis and assessment of the Internal Control over Financial and Regulatory Reporting (ICoFR) to support the quality of the management information and to ensure compliance with legal requirements and with ING Group policies.

As an SOx / Internal Control Coordinator, you cooperate very closely with the different business departments and with other Support departments like Internal Audit, Operational and Information Risk Management, IT, Compliance, Legal and of course Finance, both in Belgium and at ING Group level.

 

Your key responsibilities

You are looking to add real value to the business and to deliver results by setting the right priorities. You are working in a structured way and are paying attention to detail. You are eager to be in control, work autonomously while also able to collaborate and coordinate work done across teams. You are flexible and stress-resistant regarding deadlines.

With your team colleagues you will ensure the following responsibilities: 

  • You will organize the scoping mapping, risk assessment and walkthrough processes to assess the quality of the Internal Control. Through this key responsibility you will support but also challenge the Business and Finance process owners in the design, maintenance and monitoring of an appropriate level of control from an end-to-end process perspective.
  • You will actively contribute to the evaluation process, reviewing the impact and likelihood assessment of any deficiency and challenging potential remediation actions.
  • You will prepare interim and year-end sign-offs related to Internal Control over Financial and Regulatory Reporting including SOx404. This requires close cooperation with various departments in the end-to-end value chains, ING Group and the external auditor.
  • You will cooperate and advice in the change processes to ensure/assess Internal Control is adequately considered in different projects.

As our new SOx / Internal Control Coordinator, you need to also have:

  • A master degree or equivalent through experience
  • Experience in Audit, Internal Control, Operational Risk or SOx
  • Knowledge of Financial and Management Accounting and/or Reporting processes are a strong plus
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including ability to listen and learn
  • Good knowledge of MS office
  • Good knowledge of Dutch or French, and English
